The Workshop’s Tactics to Respond to False Information training is a practical course designed specifically to help people deal strategically and tactically with incorrect facts about your issue.
This training is for any organisation or person who is finding it difficult to communicate your issues, or have conversations online and in person, due to the use of and belief in incorrect facts. It is best for those who have a sound knowledge of the accurate facts and evidence — or access to people who do.
For people that are dealing primarily with unhelpful and misleading ideas, frames or stories, that don't include very clear factual inaccuracies, then our introductory training in framing and narratives is the recommended first step. You can also sign up for both as a bundle.
This is an in-person training held in central Wellington, on Friday 6 December from 9am - 1pm.
Please arrive at 8.30 to allow time to get settled in and meet the other participants and trainers. Morning tea will be provided as well as coffee and tea on arrival.
The training consists of:
• Pre-reading (1 hour)
• Training workshop (half day)
Before the course you will receive the training handbook which supports the training and includes pre-reading. The pre-reading, which covers why information is so sticky and why arguing the facts doesn’t work, is a prerequisite for attending the course and we ask that participants please prepare by completing this reading before the day of the training.
During the course participants will learn about:
